"Before there was a jam band scene, there were The Zen Tricksters..." -- Rolling Stone's Frickes Picks by David Frickes.
The Zen Tricksters have done it all. This pioneering New York jam band melds lifetimes of music appreciation into psychedelic originality spanning the universes of jazz, the Grateful Dead, and beyond conjuring the new and inventive. The Zen Tricksters' inspired songwriting adds layers of magic to their heavy canon, and they will rock you with the power backed by 40 years of unparalleled experience.
Now celebrating their 40th anniversary, the Zen Tricksters have four albums of original material, and one live double-disc recorded at the Rex Foundation Benefit Black-Tie Ball in 2005. Phil Lesh, so impressed by the studio-jams of their second CD, A Love Surreal, tapped two members to be part of his Phil & Friends collective.
The Zen Tricksters are: Jeff Mattson, Rob Barraco, Dave Diamond, Tom Circosta, Klyph Black, and Jennifer Markard
